WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is making a rare visit to California and Nevada to draw contrasts with Democrats on the economy and other issues.
Trump is seeking to shore up support for fellow Republicans in November elections that will determine whether his party keeps control of Congress.
The White House says the President will attend a Republican National Committee dinner at his golf club near Los Angeles on Tuesday. A likely target will be California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat and expected 2028 presidential candidate who has become one of Trump’s sharpest critics.
On Wednesday, Trump is slated to talk about the economy at a Las Vegas casino hotel.
