Shooter opens fire in Kyiv district, several dead, mayor says

April 18 (Reuters) – A man opened fire in a Kyiv district on Saturday and police were now trying to apprehend him in a supermarket, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

A special operation is proceeding to detain the man who started the shooting and is currently inside a supermarket,” Klitschko said on Telegram of the incident in the capital’s Holosiivskyi district.

“According to preliminary information, shots are also being fired in the supermarket. As a result of the shooting, there are injured and several dead.”
