Japan considers inviting Philippines President Marcos for state visit next month, Nikkei reports

April 22 (Reuters) – The Japanese government is in talks to invite Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to Japan as a state guest as early as next month, Nikkei Asia reported on Wednesday.

Marcos is expected to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to “confirm cooperation toward realizing a free and open Indo-Pacific and to coordinate responses to China’s maritime expansion”, the media outlet added.
