BERLIN, May 6 (Reuters) – German federal prosecutors conducted searches on Wednesday at some 50 locations across 12 federal states, targeting 36 individuals suspected of involvement in two far-right criminal groups accused of forming nationwide networks.
The groups, identified as “Jung & Stark” and “Deutsche Jugend Voran”, which also operates under the alias “Neue Deutsche Welle”, are suspected of organizing violent actions through social media and regular gatherings, federal prosecutors said in a statement.
No arrests were made during the operation which involved the participation of more than 600 federal and state police officers, prosecutors said.
