2 Injured After Building Targeted in Oman as Gulf Tensions Escalate
By The Media Line Staff
Two people were wounded after a residential building was targeted in Oman’s Bukha along the coastline of the Strait of Hormuz, according to state media, which said authorities have opened an investigation into the incident.
The Oman News Agency said the strike hit housing for company employees in the Tibat area, injuring two expatriates and damaging four vehicles. Windows in a nearby house were also shattered. Officials said steps are being taken to maintain the safety and security of residents while the incident is under review.
The developments were reported as tensions continued across the Persian Gulf. Iran struck an oil industry complex in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, wounding three Indian citizens, according to Fujairah’s media office.
UAE authorities said they intercepted three missiles earlier that day, while a fourth fell into the sea.
The incidents occurred during an impasse in ceasefire talks between Iran and the US, and a rejection of Iran’s ceasefire proposal by President Donald Trump a day earlier.
Sources in Israel told Walla that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have increased pressure on the Trump administration over the past week. Gulf leaders are described as concerned about potential outcomes, including the possibility of an American withdrawal from the region or a deal they view as insufficient, which they believe could expose them to Iranian retaliation and wider economic disruption.
